Islamic Countries Society of statistical Sciences

(ISOSS is an non-profit research organization established in 1988)

The objective of the ISOSS website is to share information on various aspects and activities of ISOSS and related organizations. It also provides link to organizations with similar aims and activities.

The website works as a common platform for sharing knowledge and experience with a view to encourage collaborative research and scholarly activities. It is likely to attract interested experts in statistics and other related fields across the globe for purposes of building network and productive initiatives.

ISOSS is open to all scholars interested in the development of statistics and its applications regardless of affiliation, origin, nationality, gender or religion. It particularly encourages statisticians from Islamic Countries to come forward to engage in cutting-edge research and professional development.

Postdocs to work on methdology of multivariate regression models with applications to econmics and finance

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants to carry out research whose aim is to build flexible static and dynamic multivariate regression models including copula and mixture models and to develop methods to carry out inference for these models. The estimation methods will be Bayesian using MCMC, adaptive sampling and particle filtering. Frequentist methods will also be used where appropriate.

The applications will be to data in Finance and Economics and in particular to problems of asset allocation, risk management and option

pricing in finance. The research will be funded by an ARC Discovery Grant on Building Flexible Multivariate Models.

This membership is free, requiring registration on ISOSS yahoo group and offers limited networking capabilities through our discussion group and ISOSS blog.

Full Membership

Full membership will offer you a platform to fully exploit your potentials while providing you the following benefits: - Discussions in ISOSS cyber group.

- Participating in joint research publication on ISOSS wiki.
- Personal advice on solving research problems from experienced researchers/statisticians.
- Participate in ISOSS research activities.
